Donald W. Niles

Don Niles is a litigator and counselor with over 25 years experience representing geographically diverse clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 corporations. Clients regularly seek Don as an advisor and advocate who focuses on professionalism, preparation, effective strategy, and value-added delivery of legal services. Representative litigation has included Heidi Ott, A.G. v. Target Corporation, Entegris, Inc. v. Re-Source America, Pragmatic C Software v. Antrim Design, Cieslukowski v. Norton Motors International, and Convey Compliance Systems, Inc. v. 1099 PRO, Inc., 443 F.3d 327 (4th Cir. 2006). Don is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, Minnesota Supreme Court, Minnesota state and federal courts, and other courts around the country. Don is a 1984 cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law and a 1978 graduate of Macalester College. He served as an Executive Editor of the William Mitchell Law Review. From 1984 through 1985, he was a law clerk for the Honorable Peter S. Popovich at the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Mr. Niles is a frequently requested speaker in his practice areas including patent, copyrights and trademarks. He has authored a number of publications, including articles dealing with various forms of intellectual property. Don is a member of the American Intellectual Property Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Federal Bar Association. Mr. Niles has served as a member of the adjunct faculty at William Mitchell College of Law from 1987 through 2000, teaching courses dealing with civil practice skills, media law and telecommunications.
